ARMENIAN BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS’ DATABASE  PROJECT

     Association for Foreign Investments and Corporation (AFIC), aiming to provide feasible assistance to the formation and development of the business associations of Armenia and to the formation and development of the beneficial and dynamic entrepreneurial environment, which will guarantee the provision of rights and interests of the all participants, has realized a project to provide informational-analytical support to the development and cooperation of the business associations of Armenia. Accordingly, through collection, systemization, summarization and information analysis of activities, development prospective and objective difficulties on their way, a trilingual database of business associations of Armenia has been created, which is installed on the AFIC Internet -page and a free access is provided.

    On the basis of the obtained information a version of database on CD as well as a printed directory are published. Besides an extensive analytical material is prepared on the current conditions and development prospective of the Armenian business associations. 

    During the realization of the project for the members of the business associations and with attracting interested governmental institutions and international organizations AFIC has organized regular round table discussions of the problems which are the most actual for the business associations. Among them were the problems of cooperation and collaboration of business associations with state institutions, international and foreign organizations, which are concerned in development of Armenian NGO's activity.

     A resuming presentation of the project was held in the hall “Picasso” in the Congress Hotel, Yerevan, June 6, 2002. For the participation in the project's final action the 57 Armenian business associations, representatives of interested governmental institutions, international organizations, other NGOs and business community were invited. All the represented organizations were given examples of a printed directory of the Armenian business associations and a database CD.

   All the speakers greeted the successful completion of the project of the Association for Foreign Investments and Corporation, aimed to solve the most important task of force consolidation of public organizations, assigned to solve the various existing problems, congratulated the project director and the executive stuff with the successful completion, mentioned its significance and were hoping that the organization will continue to be successive in its upcoming work to strengthen and consolidate business associations of Armenia.
